Embark on a spiritual journey of a lifetime with Pravasy’s 9D/8N Chardham tour. This sacred pilgrimage takes you through the heart of Uttarakhand, visiting the revered temples of Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath, each nestled amidst the majestic Himalayas. Known as the Chardham, these holy sites are believed to cleanse your soul and bring you closer to divine blessings. Along the way, you’ll witness the awe-inspiring beauty of nature, from serene rivers to towering peaks, and experience the spiritual energy that has drawn pilgrims for centuries. For those seeking an aerial view of this breathtaking landscape, an optional helicopter ride to Kedarnath is available at an additional cost.
Itinerary
Day 01: Arrive Haridwar – Dehradun – Mussoorie – Barkot (200kms/8 hrs)
Note: During the Sawan month, the tour may be impacted by the Kanwar Yatra, which can cause route diversion due to Kanwar on the highway, like Meerut to Haridwar, Rishikesh and other places
Day 02: Barkot - Yamunotri – Barkot (45 Kms road/ 6 kms Trek, one way)
Early morning drive to JankiRENhatti, trek starts from here to Yamunotri (6 kms). On arrival at Jankichatti, leave the vehicle and start to ascend on the trek route either by waHILDlking or pony/doli (at own cost). On arrival at Yamunotri, purchase Prasad from local small shops, then proceed to a holy dip in a natural hot water spring or in river Yamuna (icy cold water). One can cook rice in “Surya Kund” (hot water spring), dipping it in a muslin cloth and take cooked rice home as “Prasadam”. Pooja can be offered to the mythological “DivyaShila”. Take the blessings of Mata Yamuna and trek down to Jankichatti. Later, drive back to Barkot for a night stay.

Yamunotri Temple: The temple is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna who is believed to be daughter of Lord Surya and sister of Yamraj. Maharani Gularia of Jaipur built the temple in the 19th Century. Being at high altitude it was destroyed several times by avalanches in the present century and rebuilt again.
Surya Kund: There are a number of thermal springs in the vicinity of the temple, which flows into numerous pools. The most important of these is “Surya Kund” dedicated to Lord Surya.
DivyaShila: According to mythology, river Yamuna came out for the very first time from “Divya Shila”. This is the worship place of Yamuna Mata.
Day 03: Barkot – Uttarkashi (90 kms/4hrs)
Uttarkashi: Uttarkashi is situated on the banks of holy river Bhagirathi which is the prime tributary of river Ganges. This place is associated with Lord Shiva, once he resided here. Some of the important temples worth visiting are Kashi Vishwanath temple, ancient Shakti Mata temple with a huge mythological trident (trishul), Hanuman temple etc.
Day 04: Uttarkashi - Gangotri - Uttarkashi (100kms/4hrs, one way)
Morning proceeds to Gangotri (3048mts), en-route enjoy the drive parallel to River Bhagirathi and the most magnificent view of the Himalayas. On arrival at Gangotri, have a holy dip in river Bhagirathi (icy cold water). Perform Pooja and Hindu rites at the bank of river. Then proceed for darshan of Mata Ganga, Lord Shiva, Hanuman,Vinayka and BhagirathMaharaj(all temples are within compound area), have blessings and return to the parking area board the vehicle & drive back to Uttarkashi. Overnight stay at Uttarkashi.
Harsil: Harsil is an unspoiled and hidden jewel of Uttrakhand, dense Deodar Forest, gushing water of Bhagirathi River, the chirping of Birds, salubrious environment & pleasant weather make it a perfect destination.
Gangotri Temple: The temple is dedicated to Goddess Ganga who is supposed to be the daughter of Heaven. The temple was constructed by the Gorkha General Amar Singh Thapa in the 18th Century and is situated on the right bank of Bhagirathi.
Day 05: Uttarkashi – Sitapur (280 kms/ 12 hrs)
Early morning drive to Sitapur, on arrival check into hotel, Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 06: Sitapur - Kedarnath – Sitapur (16 kms Trek/6 Hrs. one way)
Early morning drive to Sonprayag till parking area. Beyond this vehicle are not allowed due to narrow roads (for trek route). From Sonprayag to Gaurikund Shuttle services are available, this distance (4 Kms) you must cover by local vehicles/jeep at your own cost fixed by the government (Approx Rs.50 per person). After reaching at Gaurikund, you can start trekking for Kedarnath (16 Kms one way)
A helicopter service is also available for Kedarnath, so one can take a helicopter to Kedarnath (at own cost). Tour members should carry personal medicines, heavy woolen, toiletries and clothes.After performing Pooja &Darshan of Shri Kedarnathji return to Sitapur. Overnight stay at a hotel.

Don’t believe in any other website or any person who will offer you a ticket, you may get scammed so be aware.
Kedarnath: The Kedarnath shrine, one of the 12 Jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva, is a scenic spot situated against the backdrop of the majestic Kedarnath range. Kedar is another name of Lord Shiva, the protector and the destroyer. According to legends, Pandavas after having won over the Kaurava in Kurukshetra war, felt guilty of having killed their own brothers and sought the blessings of Lord Shiva for redemption. He eluded them repeatedly and while fleeing took refuge at Kedarnath in the form of a bull, on being followed he dived into the ground, leaving his hump on the surface. The remaining portions of Lord Shiva appeared at four other places and are worshiped there as his manifestations. The arms appeared at Tungnath, the face at Rudranath, the belly at Madmaheshwar and his locks (hair) with head at Kalpeshwar. Kedarnath and the four above-mentioned shrines are treated as PanchKedar.
Day 07: Sitapur – Pipalkoti (120 kms/6Hrs)
This morning at leisure, today depart in the afternoon (around 12:00 hrs noon) to Pipalkoti, on arrival check into the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 08: Pipalkoti -Mana Village - Saraswati Pushkaralu - Badrinath (80 kms /4 Hrs)
Morning transfer to Badrinath, en-route visit Joshimath (Narasimha Temple) and Vishnu Prayag. On arrival check in at the hotel, later drive to Mana Village and Take a holy dip in the icy-cold waters of the River Saraswati and perform sacred rituals at its banks during the auspicious occasion of Saraswati Pushkar thereafter, you can visit Mana village, which includes Vyas Gufa, Ganesh Gufa and Bhim Pul and then return to Badrinath. in the evening visit Badrinath temple. overnight stay at Badrinath
Badrinath: one of the ‘Four Dhams’ is one of the most celebrated pilgrimage spots of the country and is situated at an elevation of 3,133 meters, guarded on either side by the two mountain ranges known as Nar & Narayan with the towering Neelkanth Peak providing a splendid backdrop. This revered spot was once carpeted with wild berries,this place got name “Badri van”, meaning “forest of berries”.
TaptKund: Natural thermal springs on the bank of the river Alaknanda, where it is customary to bathe before entering the Badrinath temple.
NaradKund: A recess in the river, near TaptKund, forming a pool from where the Badrinath idol was recovered by Jagad Guru Shankaracharya and established in the temple.
Brahma Kapal: A flat platform on the bank of river Alaknanda. Hindus perform propitiating rites for their deceased ancestors.
Sheshnetra: 1.5kms away from the temple a boulder having an impression of the legendary serpent, better known as the Sheshnag’s eye.
Charan Paduka: 3kms. Away is a beautiful meadow where the footprint of Lord Vishnu is seen on a boulder.
Mata Murti Temple: Devoted to the mother of Shri Badrinath Ji. Other important temples include SeshNetra Temple, Urvashi Temple and Charan Paduka.
ManaVillage: Inhabited by an Indo-Mongolian tribe, it is the first Indian village before Tibet.
BhimPul: On the other side of Mana village, a massive rock forming a natural bridge, lies over the roaring Saraswati River. It presents a spectacular view of water thundering down through the narrow passage under the rock and is believed to have been placed there by Bhim, the second eldest among the five Pandava brothers.
Vyas Gufa (cave): Near Mana village, there is a rock-cave where Ved Vyas is believed to have composed the Mahabharata and the pauranic commentaries.
Joshimath: Situated on the slopes above the confluence of Alaknanda and Dhauliganga. Joshimath is one of four ‘Mathas’ established by AdiShankaracharya. There are many temples in the township, the most important is the temple of Narsimha in the commotion of Lord Vishnu. The left arm of this deity withers with time and the popular belief holds that the day arm completely witherBadrinath valley will cease to exist and the Godsresidence will transfer to neighboring Niti Valley at BhavishyaBadri.
Vishnu Prayag: It is the confluence of river Dhauliganga and Alananda& one the PanchPrayag.
Day09: Badrinath – Rishikesh - Haridawar (320 Kms/ 12 hrs)
Morning after breakfast & Darshan of Badrivishal Transfer to Haridwar, en-route visit Karanprayag, Nandprayag, Rudraprayag and Devprayag the confluence of Alaknanda and Bhagirathi. Here onwards downstream the river is called the Ganges. Arrival at Rishikesh & proceed for Sightseeing which covers the magnificent ashrams and famous Ram Jhula and Laxman Jhula, Shivanand Ashram, Gita Bhavan, Pramarth Niketan, Later drive to Delhi. Evening arrival at Delhi Tour ends here with happy memories to be cherished forever.
Nandprayag: It is the confluence of river Nandakani and Alaknanda & one the PanchPrayag.
Karanprayag: It is the confluence of river Pinder and Alaknanda & one the PanchPrayag.
Rudraprayag: It is the confluence of river Mandakiniand and Alaknanda & one the PanchPrayag.
Devprayag: It is the confluence of river Bhagirathi and Alaknanda & one the PanchPrayag.

Precaution for Yatra
- Cover your head with a Monkey cap or any other woolen clothes while on high altitude to avoid hill-sickness, giddiness etc. at KedarnathandYamunotri.
- Keep on drinking water to avoid dehydration.
- Trek only on the hillside, avoid trekking or standing on the valley side, as a pony (horse) coming from the opposite direction may push you down to the valley which may cause serious casualty.
- Packaged Water is available at every place, use only packaged water or boiled water can be obtained from local tea shops during trekking.
